However, numerical approximations often do not belong to the correct functional space, requiring post-processing techniques to ensure compatibility with the error estimation framework. In this presentation, we consider the Poisson problem as a model and demonstrate how to post-process solutions obtained using mimetic differences to enable the application of functional error estimates. Numerical experiments in two dimensions confirm that the proposed post-processing techniques recover the expected convergence rates for both the primal and dual variables. This, in turn, allows the obtained error estimates to guide adaptive mesh refinement strategies and reduce computational costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SPEAKER BIO:<\/strong>Jhabriel Varela es ingeniero qu\u00edmico por la Universidad Nacional de Asunci\u00f3n. Tras desempe\u00f1arse durante dos a\u00f1os como asistente de investigaci\u00f3n en la Universidad Paraguayo-Alemana, realiz\u00f3 una Maestr\u00eda en Matem\u00e1tica Aplicada en la Universidad de Bergen, Noruega. En la misma instituci\u00f3n, obtuvo en el a\u00f1o 2022 su doctorado en Matem\u00e1tica Aplicada y Computacional bajo la tutor\u00eda del Dr. Eirik Keilegavlen. Luego de una estancia postdoctoral en el Grupo de Medios Porosos de la Universidad de Bergen, retorn\u00f3 a Paraguay, donde actualmente se desempe\u00f1a como docente investigador en el Grupo de Computaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica y Matem\u00e1tica Aplicada de la Universidad Nacional de Asunci\u00f3n. Sus intereses cient\u00edficos se encuentran en la intersecci\u00f3n entre modelado matem\u00e1tico, an\u00e1lisis num\u00e9rico y desarrollo de software num\u00e9rico de c\u00f3digo abierto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christian E.
